#143 – Ex-Police Officer “Learns Truck Dispatching” Online & Made 90K The First Year!

Early Life:

This is the story of courage, grit, and determination. Kyra King was born in Chicago, Illinois, and raised in Atlanta, Georgia; she is the owner of Prosper Logistics. In high school, she played basketball and was an excellent player. In spite of her great love for the sport, Kyra chose to focus on her career as a lawyer and law enforcement officer.

 

Kyra always aspired to become a police officer. She graduated from Valdosta State University in 2015 and became a police officer shortly after. As she knew she needed to gain experience to become an FBI agent, she decided to apply for the position. Kyra says that being a police officer was challenging, requiring her to be disciplined and committed to protecting the citizens.

 

After serving as a patrol officer for about three years, she was promoted to detective. After becoming a detective, Kyra realized it wasn’t for her anymore. However, Kyra never thought about trucking becoming her career and never thought about entrepreneurship until it was too late. Trucking was just something she had to do.

At the beginning of her interview with Truck N’ Hustle, Kyra describes her time working as a police officer. She also recites an event with which she became acquainted, which gave her anxiety and eventually caused her to leave that job. When her fraud husband left her after she became pregnant with their second child, she found a new way to make money-Trucking. This was a matter of survival.

 

After watching Alix Good energy’s videos, Kyra was tempted to join the trucking industry. She took a course of two weeks where she learned how to dispatch. Her first carrier was a friend of hers who was also an ex-police. After dispatching for her friend successfully, the business took off with word of mouth, enabling her never to look back. She is thankful that the dispatching worked because she would not know where she would be today without it.

 

In an hour-long interview, Kyra reveals to the audience her secrets for building a dispatching business. She begins by describing her decision to take on the challenge of becoming self-employed and explains the importance of selecting a course that suits your interests and meeting with instructors who are knowledgeable in their fields. She then explains how she gained knowledge from industry experts by asking questions and observing how they handle themselves in their jobs. Finally, she describes how she gained trust in the industry by understanding what is expected of inexperienced and how they handle client requests.

 

Kyra provided the most insight and information in the interview, which could be the silver lining for any aspiring entrepreneur who wants to dispatch.

Kyra, who always keeps God first in her life, advises others to do so. In the final thought of the interview, she goes spiritual and encourages people to trust God and pray.

 

She also suggested that it’s essential to continue learning and staying up-to-date and networking within the industry to find opportunities.
